I just installed the Sprint Booster for my 07 550i and have been driving it for a couple weeks now, and I noticed something odd about my gear shifting.

I noticed that whenever I floored the pedal, the RPM will rev to the max, roaring very loud, stall there for a couple seconds, and finally switch to the next gear. During all that time, the car is jurking as it loses and gains power at the high rpm.

I dont drive a manual transmission so i dont know much about when exactly the gears should shift, but I find this really weird.

Is that normal, is my SB a dud, did I install incorrectly? Maybe I should reset my cars memory?

Honestly, I dont really see any other difference than the odd shifting times, and maybe a quicker response only when on Sport Mode.

Any feedback would be great. Thanks!

did you reset the Throttle (holding down gas pedal for 10sec) and or reset the Steptronic gearbox (holding down gas pedal for 25seconds) ?

I always do this when I install or remove the Sprint Booster, just to calibrate it all again.

Well, first of all, try removing the SB and see if the car still acts the same....

Did you get the right sprint booster? The make them for Manual and Automatic.

That is not "normal" even for SB auto - mine is crisp and quick. I'd pull the SB and if the problem persists you may be on the verge of a transmission problem.

Are you still under warranty?

Should be... if the problem persists after the SB is gone, go to the dealer as soon as possible
