We should also ask my530i if he could look into modifying the SB with a switch. Or maybe just email the company and ask if it's possible.

mrfva, did you go to the group buy thread and go to that link I supplied to order the unit? That link was the group buy site set up by PartsExporter for the special $250 shipped pricing. If you ordered from their store on eBay, you would have paid $300.

Let's say I got too excited in ordering the SB, and forgot to order from the GB page. Andy was kind enough to refund the shipping and handling charges, but I paid him for his eBay fees --- which I think is fair. So, mine was out the door for $270 vs $250.

...can't wait!

Btw, thanks for setting this up.

Fred can easily do this.

B/T/W - This is a great idea guys. I get nervous with my wife driving the car from time to time, as she has NO idea that the car has the SB installed. LOL! All I need is to get a call one day that she tapped on the accelerator and slammed into the garage wall or another car for that matter...

You're welcome. Hope you enjoy it. And please, provide some additional feedback once you get it installed.

I like how your mind works 'HotLap', I think we are on to something here....... I wonder if Bruce M. ( LCI tail light retrofit ) would take on this challenge.
This is what gave me the idea ....at 2:10 into the video when Tiff hits the 'power button' he says, "....it dosen't really give you more power, it simply SHARPENS the throttle responce...so your sitting there at 1/2 a throttle and you press the power button and it just accelerates, because the throttle movement is now more sensitive....." That's a switchable SB
mp - nice video...that would be a great "Power" button to add and be able to enable when you wanted to do "spirited" driving!! Can you PM Bruce and check with him?

This SB really sounds like a must have. Anyway, do I need to have a remap? What exactly is a remap? and what does it do? Sorry, I'm new to whole mod thing. Thanks.

REMAP- reprogramming the car's ecu for additional gains in horsepower and torque (for 530, ~10 hp&torque gain). no remap is required with the SB.

Don't mod. its an expensive and addictive habit. Sometimes I regret going to those Socal e60 meets. j/k

Yeah, save your money or invest it. You'll be driving a nicer car in a few years instead of dumping your hard earned cash into this car.
