Does anyone know if the heated Sport wheel is the same thickness as the standard heated wheel?

Sorry guys, I was asleep at the wheel
The cold weather package wheel is a direct replacement for the stock wheel, with all switches, airbag, etc, fitting the same. When you look at the two side-by-side, there are two differences.
1. The CWP wheel is thicker, and has a less ovoid shape when you hold it. It's thicker, padded, but firm.
2. The CWP wheel has the wiring harness attached necessary for the heater. I considered cutting it off, but I left it, and they just didn't connect it to anything.
The part numbers are here, with prices from one dealer.
1 32-34-6-763-360 STEER. WHEEL 1 376.00
2 32-34-6-763-359 STEER. WHEEL -1 287.20
1 is the heated CWP wheel 2 is the stock wheel. I'm "assuming" I can sell the stock wheel for close to this price, since it's in like new condition, and there aren't many in the aftermarket. See eBay.
So, as I see it, it's a gross of $400 plus labor, net whatever I get for the stock wheel. Labor was 1 1/2 hours.
I don't have pics side-by-side yet - I'll see what I can do. I'd say a fair statement is if you took teh stock wheel and added 1/8 inch padding under it, that's the difference. It feels about the same as the E39 sport wheel, but as Iceman says, not quite as thick as the sport wheel.
The sport wheel is smaller diameter - looks like an inch to me. But, I personally like the look of this one better.

The idea of getting the heated steeringwheel is apealing to me.. But I also want to have the button so I can turn it on.
Anybody have an idea if this retrofit is possible and what it is gonna cost me??

I tried to do it. I have the switch - but it showed up a day too late to include. Here's the rub. Nobody has been able to tell me if all I need is the switch and the wheel, or if there is more wiring - switch to wheel interconnect, software, etc.
So, I gave up. If you find out, I'll sell you the switch at a discount - I can't return it - it was special ordered and backordered from Germany. About $45.
