Sport exhaust conflicting with the E60's nature?

Hey guys, just wondering about how having a sport exhaust might conflict with the obvious luxury status of the E60? I'd love to get a Eisenmann exhaust but I'm concerned that then the sound might be a bit loud from the interior. I mean, if it is a luxury car with all the sound dampening and all, wouldn't having a loud exhaust kind of kill what you have going after all?

I understand it's all in the name of sacrifice for gaining more power, but I was just thinking that the exhaust might be at odds with the car's luxurious nature. Hell, I run a straight pipe on my RX7 and that's loud as hell, but I think it's expected when you have a car that's not build to be luxurious as opposed to sporty, jarring ride and all. What do you guys think?

Too funny I thought the stock exhaust toned down the sportiness of the V8 sitting under the hood too much. For me the B&B compliments the car just perfectly? really no sacrifice for me in that I wasn?t looking for a performance gain?but instead was strictly looking for a ?tone? that I felt better suited the car.

Not to worry about the sound from the interior. If I can figure a way to get a picture of the tach while I'm driving and recording an AVI from the inside, I mayl do it.

I happen to be one of the few that are happy with the stock exhaust. I wouldn't throw money away for a better sounding car. If I wanted a better sound I would have opted for the 911. Remember people the 5 series is a luxury sport sedan. Spend the $$ on wheels!! IMO

I just want and like the look of twin dual "quad" exhausts.

Although i would have to cut the stock bumper or buy a new one with diffuser, the rear bumper from the New M5 would be quite nice.

This a completely personal decision.
For me, the Sporting Naure of a V8 - SMG - 5 series just begged for an exhaust that I could hear. And do those downshifts sound sweet (or so I remember - 14 days in the shop and *still* waiting )!
Someone opting for a 545 non-sport or a 530 non-sport may feel that it is a waste, excessive, or just not suitable for this kind of car. I agree! If you are buying a highly capable luxo-cruiser then don't get an exhaust. It would be like throwing an exhaust on a 745Li. May not work for everyone, would it.
If you think that you have the next best thing short of an M5, then an exhaust will surely keep you interested.
I drove a 911 C4S (as well as a lot of other cars) before I pulled the trigger on the 545I SMG. Even though I hardly have anybody else in my car, I like knowing that I COULD put a couple of people in the back seat if I chose to., but I have a highly capable car none-the-less.
Neither is right and neither is wrong. But for me, it is Oh So Right!!
