I have the utmost respect for the M5. It's not going to be easy to beat a stock M5 and even harder a modded one. There will be vids from Socal in the near future...

BTW, we are talking about rolling starts not digs. I already know I'll beat up on ECF, CoolTones, Glock, and snikt21 from a dig.
I need to practice my launches. I've seen videos from Darren Dallas on M5Board where he beat an SL55 off the line a couple times using the LC. Granted there are lot of variables involved though.

There is just one variable involved with the E63: Point and mash.

Also, what does the charcoal filter do exactly and how easy is it to remove?

Ok, I just pulled off my air filter and surprise...my 2008 535i does not have a charcoal filter. I'm guessing it's only in the 545/550i. Must be a V-8 thing.

Dropped in a K&N filter just for fun and well...it was lil' bit more responsive, but not by much. I hope my BMC filter will make more of a noticeable difference than K&N and stock.

Hmm...all US E60s had charcoal filters, even the 525s and 530s, not just the V8s.

Interesting. Can any of you '08 e60's confirm this? My air filter case just had the top housing cover, the stock paper air filter, and the bottom housing. No charcoal filter at all.

i have the charcoal filter on my 07 525i, i think it's a 'new' thing for US 07 model, not sure about the 08. so no charcoal filter on the top of the housing?
either way, my AFE CAI will be in soon so my current K&N will be gone =P

how much sound does the k&n filter make? Do you notice it inside the cabin with all windows up? How is it at WOT? Can you here the turbos spool? Am seriously lookin into it but am not yet convinced since it doesn't really add any HP.

i did some runs with my a/c on lowest setting, radio off, and all windows up. i did hear a slightly louder exhaust note, and like i mentioned earlier a lil bit more responsiveness. i did not hear the turbos spool. the real comparison will be when my BMC filter arrives.

and sorry, but what does WOT mean?

EDIT: ok, i found out WOT means "wide open throttle". so my next question is, what's "wide open throttle"? is that pedal to the floor?
