Speed Camera Detector - which one and best fitting location?

Hi there,
I'm looking to get a speed camera detector (for the UK) and I think the best one I can find is the snooper 3zero unit (the only thing its missing is auto-update function). If anyone know of a better unit please can they let me know.
Also with regards to the fitting of the unit; I'm thinking about putting above my centre mirror and hardwiring it to something there -
1) what is the best thing to wire it to up there (I don't have a sunroof)
2) Is there any other recommend location?
