I put in my 2 12" MTX 4500 Subwoofers with an audio planet amp and there just isn't enough bass... is it because everything is sealed?
I had the same issue in my e39 540i so i cut out my own ski pass and the sound improved by a lot...

What did you guys do to get some more bass? Any suggestions?

Hi there,

I might be able to help you get more bass out of your sound system, however that may require you to purchase a new subwoofer.
Please e-mail me at hendrady@hotmail.com if you're interested in doing this with us. Oh yes, where are you located by the way?
We are located in West LA.

Thank You,
Peter

How far from the car the bass must be heard? In my 2007 sound system has too much [boomy] bass.

i had one 12" MTX 8500 sub in a sealed box and it was pretty loud. But then I sold it and got a 12" JL Audio W6v2 in a ported box and im in love with my sub now. Contact member FANTASTIC_5 for quotes for audio stuff (he owns a audio shop).

The JL audi w6v2 only handles about 400-500 watts... what kind of amp are you using for it?

Do you guys have the ski pass in your car? because it seems like everything is sealed between the trunk and the interior.
My system is putting out about 800 watts RMS so i guess its not enough for a sealed trunk.

BTW,i have the Logic 7 sound system...

anyone who is car audio systems will tell you the BMW is probably the best sealed vehichle trunk in the market. These things are sealed shut, making it very difficult to get bass in to the cabin your best bet is to go infinate baffle with subs mounted on rear deck or cutting out the ski pass and g et some bass that way. I'm running 2 12" with about 1000 watts and still sounds a little bit on the weak side. More modification will probably be necessary.

In 1966 The Beatles performed at Shea Stadium using 100W amps (upgraded from 30W). Ok so they couldn't be heard either but they had more than road noise from run flat tyres to compete with.
