Just to illustrate that putting snow chains on an E60 is soooooo easy ! And efficient ! Especially when you have only summer tires, 225/25 - 16" wheels, and that you get more than 15cms of snow in 2 hours !
It is sometimes skiddy though...... Even with DTC.... But...... I reached my homeplace !!!!
Enjoy the winter !

Nice job. I was thinking about getting snow chains but decided I wanted to buy studded tires. I live in Canada and was told it was illegal. I asked why? I was told incase you run over someone. I really started to laugh. I said that if im running someone over their gonna be fUk3d up one way or the other. With or woth out the studded tires.

I have 18" Continental winter tires (non-studded) and I am pretty much able to drive anywhere.

With a xi and studded snow tires, I would think that you could drive up a wall! You must have excellent traction.

I bet it is easier to put chains on 16" than on 18"......

I don't even want to think about it!

Once, I had to assist my dad with the install of snow chains on his 14m long RV... in bad weather. That was a miserable experience, and getting them off after making over the pass was not fun either.

BTW, it looks like you have about as much snow as we do; where in France are you located?
