So I took the phone pro instead of having no phone in there.
I wish I would have BT, since my cellphone has it and it would so much easier...
Actually the phone pro uses BT too, but you can't pair another phone with it.
Oh, but why would anyone today choose pro phone over bluetooth? I cant think of any reason??

I received my v600 snap-in adaptor today.? I hate to say it, but I think it's a snap-in adaptor for the factory phone eject box.? There's no way this thing will snap in to the storage tray.? It looks to me like we need to:
1.? Install CPT9000 eject box and connect wiring.
2.? Install snap-in adaptor for BT phone.
Then, it makes sense, and would look like the picture. The thing with the button and phone/talk pic on it appears to me to be the eject box for the built-in phone.
I have to agree at this point on the high cost, relative to function.
The sound quality on speaker is bad, from what everyone I call says - lots of background noise.
So, for $175 for the eject box and another $100 for the adaptor for my phone, I get a $275 charger port. Sure, it will use the car's antenna, but my reception is fine.
Plus, the iDrive dialing system won't let me use pauses and waits - I have to iDrive scroll around the keypad and dial in the numbers, which means I'm back to looking at the display.
Plus, I have to re-record all of my voice names into iDrive.
I think I'd be better off spending that money on a better phone and a nice Bluetooth headset.

sorry, that was me ^^
I hate to sound negative - I've been REALLY excited about the whole BT thing. It's just getting to where I think it just isn't ready for prime time.

Hormazd - I took back the v551 and traded up to the Razr. Are you adjusting the call volume on the phone and in the car, or just in the car. If both, what's the volume setting on the phone set to?
By keeping the volume low, the echo is gone, but my wife still says I sound crappy - like I'm in a wind tunnel. I'm not sure it's that bad - I'm guessing it sounds like a speaker phone in a car
but would, of course, like it set up a well as possible.
