I'm planning to get my windows tinted here in the near future....and the shop I am planning to use is trying to sell me tint that is ceramic based. He told me tints with metal will cause interference issues with the electronics in the car. Is this any truth to this, or are they just trying to get more $$ out of me.
Here is what they want to install...............

OK if I am wrong.. you didn't hear it from me. If I am right... it's not because I know what I am talking about. BUT... yes, I have been told that because of the large amount of electronics in the E60, eg. bluetooth, navigation, etc. that some interference could be created by using metal tint. This is apparently so because the windshield and rear window are used to magnify electronic signals... used as an antenna. I was instructed that I would lose some AM reception with metal tint. Use a cermic tint, instead of a tint with metallic in it, the installer is right, it has been knowen to cause reception issues with various different things, in various cars.
