It took you several weeks to determine it was NOTHING like you wanted? If it took you that long to figure out you didnt like it, you may need to re-evaluate what exactly you're looking to get out of a radar. I have a feeling the Passport may not provide you the gratification you're looking for. Either way good luck!
I know exactly what I want from a Radar Detector.

Before purchasing, I researched both the V1 and the Passport. I found that the Passport was quieter because it blocked out false alerts which I liked.
Everyone here "claimed" that the arrows on the V1 were the best thing to happen to the radar detectors.. SO.. I wanted to check it out for myself.
Since I had a 30-day money back guarantee, I wanted to take full advantage of this instead of purchasing it playing with it for a few days and returning it.

I just recently drove a round trip of total 1,000 miles from NJ to NC and back to NJ last week and found that the V1 still gave too many false alerts and the arrows didn't do anything for me.
I rather have a detector to lock out false alerts and only beep when a real threat is closeby. I don't need to tense up every time the V1 decides to alert me for automatic doors

Absolutely. I don't get bothered with non police alerts around the city like I did with the V1.
My wants and needs on a radar detector may be different from others.. people who own the V1 must not mind all the false alerts.. it annoys me.
When my passport goes off, I know for sure that its a cop but when my V1 started yelling I was left to play the guessing game

Great to hear the Passport is working out well. Hope you are bringing it to the July 25th meet. The one part of the route that is very heavily patrolled is the 40 mile strech of I80 West from the Rockaway Townsquare Mall in NJ to exit in East Stroudsberg, Pa. We will be keeping our speed down in that stretch -- radar detectors or not.

Ok Almost everyone This was a classic case of "Hype" and "Fanboism".

At least I can say I gave the V1 a try ( a good 3 weeks try ) before I decided to return it

There are several programs settings on the V1 that allow you to block out different types of radar, including those bandwiths which are usually door sensors and other junk radar. To each his own I suppose, just don't tell us if you get a ticket

I know about programing it, but a detector which suppose to be the best should work great right out of the box IMO.

And my chances of getting a ticket will be slim since I never got a ticket when I was driving without a detector for the past 10 years.
So in all seriousness my driving skills actually saved me from more tickets than any radar detector ever has
