I have a 2004 530i- 6 speed, my throw from gear to gear is very long. Unsure if that was BMWs intention for a more luxury feel, but after driving my friends m3 with a short shifter I want one!!!

Can anybody give me some advice/opinions where to go?
What companies are best?

A local shop here in Toronto recommended "ralco rz" (eBay link below) but I called ralco direct, and they said it only fits 2005-2008 545/550. Is 530 and 550 same tranny?

I've also heard about B&M and UUC short shifters, but no reviews out there..
