Hi,
Anybody have changed already shocks at e60? Which side should be more damaged first? Front or rear?

While my mechanic was replacing my front brake pads, he discovered that my right front strut was leaking. I plan to replace them with Konis.
Posting your mileage when your shocks were replaced would be an added benefit as well.
This will give readers a better idea of when these things usually go out, might as well include I6 vs. V8 too.

Interesting. Is this going to be affected by dynamic drive at all?
Yesterday I made inspection and after shock test I got 57% on front and 15% in rear. But guys who made inspection says they dont have idea why computers calculate 15% in rear. Everything looks fine , and rear shocks doesnt look like they will be damaged. Is it possible ? I got v8 545 with 120tkm. I also have got Dynamic Drive.
on a 545, member r1racer was running the setup of H&R sport springs coupled with bilstein sport shocks, before making the change to coilovers. it usually comes down between bilstein and konis with shocks, with us bilsteins have been the more popular option

op, i replaced my oem sport shocks w/ 51k miles. other than filth and soot on them, they appeared to still be in very good condition. i probably could of gotten another 10k or more miles. unless you willing to upgrade, ride those shocks till they're shot. the oem IMO are pretty durable. good luck

i too went with the bilstein sport shocks (w/ eibach prokit) and so far enjoying every minute behind the wheel. maybe coilovers down the road but for now i'm very content with this setup.

Is there possibility to install bilstein shocks on my oem springs? If yes, witch model of bilstein will fit 545? I got Dynamic Drive, so I should use any special shocks?
