I installed it on my old 545i, and it isn't difficult, it just takes a little patience and a litllecare when installing the new parts!. Also needed, the DIY found here on the forum! Good luck and enjoy one of the best "Bang for the Buck" Mods you can do!

Getting lighting done next week at Motorcepts... LCI headlights/HID, MTEC v3 AEs, HID fogs. He told me to bring the trim and he'd give me a quote but I hate waiting. I'm sure you know how it goes.

Be VERY careful how you hammer down the trim. I thought I had enough padding when I was installing it and it scratched up the rear trim pretty bad

You hit it with a hammer when installing? I didn't, I used my hands and press fit it in with the clips attached. This made for a smooth and damage free install.

What tools did you guys use/find helpful for this install?

I used a rubber mallet and a plastic 3" paint scraper for removal, tap the handle of the scraper gently and the trim pops right off. For install I used my hands and carefully press fit it back in place. Worked like a charm. Also the trim at the lower edges of the windows pulls right off, so DO NOT use tools - those pieces are resting on painted areas so tools are a cuss word, be gentle when you pull them up so that you don't bend them.
