USD$3800 for BMW M5 Steering (+ airbag) fully installed with SMG paddleshift linked to Steptronic.
Would this be a good price for such a mod?

NOOOOO. The price of the steering wheel with a new airbag (meaning not reusing the one in your existing steering wheel) should be in the ballpark of $1500. Unless installation runs $2300, bad deal

Plus you may want to get definite answer as to if it can be wired to work properly.
