Taking a little trip from Central Texas to Eastern Ohio in a few days, so I decided this weekend is the best time to take care of some maintenance. Normally I could have done everything in a few hours, but 109 degree heat will slow one down a step.

Yesterday, I changed out the oil and filter. Decided to go with Royal Purple 5w30 and Purolator filter (only one Advance Auto had). According to iDrive, I was 30 miles over the recommended change, but the used oil looked pretty clean still. I have only put around 4k miles on it in the 7 months I have owned it.

Today, I changed the plugs out. I have noticed some rough idle issues and poor acceleration so I figured I would go ahead and change them, even though the car is at 67K miles. The passenger side was pretty easy, to include #4 (at the firewall). Had a little more difficulty on the driver side. Luckily I wore my Wiley-X Combat gloves with kevlar plated knuckles. The definately made the job easy. Without them, I am sure my knuckles would be torn up. Unfortunately I was not able to get to #8 (rear driver), so I will either attempt it in a cooled garage in Ohio, or have my Indy change that one.
