I have an Escort radar detector that I plugged into the adapter in the passenger footwell. I have the detector mounted in the center (just above the Nav unit). Most of the wire is hidden out of sight, with exception to the area where the dash and A-post are.

I've thought of just taping it down, but I know tape won't last long term. There's no slot that I can neatly hide the cord.

Any suggestions how to secure it?

Not sure about the front of the dash, where it meets the windshield. Probably no gap down there.

Anyway, I have my V1 just above the rearview mirror on the driver's side, and I ran the cord under the headliner to the A pillar. The headliner gives enough to put it in by hand, or use a plastic putty knife. When you get to the A pillar, you can pull the cover back enough to stuff the cord in there too. If you slide a plastic putty knife under the cover of the A pillar, you'll see what I mean. Then it's just a matter of working it in around the passenger side of the dash where it meets the door when closed down to the foot well. It sounds like you have that part already.

I don't think I had to take any parts off to route the wire from the mirror to the passenger foot well for the plug in. If you were to hardwire it to the outlet, you'd obviously need to take that panel off.

I'll try to get some pics later today. There's a big gap between the windshield and dash (realized that I should never sit small objects on the dash now or I'll have to get the dash removed to get them out).

Maybe I should mount it near the rearview mirror. Would be less noticeable and provide greater range.

Nevermind, fixed it. Just took a little more force and a strong plastic card (actually my gate card) to get it between the dash and A-post.

Here's hoping it doesn't create a rattle in another 10,000 miles!

Will post pics of the new car as soon as I get her washed. It's been raining here since the day I picked her up!
