SAT retrofit for xDrive? Also paddle shifter retrofit for LCI?
#1
Hi everyone,
First time poster here. I just placed an order for a 535i xDrive Touring. In the US, Tourings only came with xDrive, so I am not able to get SAT/paddle shifters.
After reading through pages and pages of information on this forum on SAT and paddle retrofit, I still cannot find the answer to my questions....
1) I don't think the SAT is available with xDrive anywhere in the world.... Can I still retrofit it? Is there any mechanical reasons why SAT is not offered with xDrive? Has anyone retrofitted the SAT to their xDrive car?
2) If I can retrofit SAT, is it possible to change to a paddle-equipped steering wheel? Has anyone succeessfully retrofitted a paddle wheel onto an LCI car? (I think the answer is no on this one, but just checking to make sure)
Thank you very much for your answers in advance!

There are members here who are way more knowledgeable than I am on this subject but I don't think you can retrofit the SAT with xDrive. I'm guessing something doesn't fit or they'd offer it as an option, right?
On the subject of paddles, in my opinion, that would be something more doable. You may need some custom cabling to connect the paddles to the shifting circuit but I'm pretty sure you'll hear from other member about this possible retrofit soon...
