Default S100A brake upgrade

I have an 08 528i, I picked up some rotors from an 08 535i and was wondering if I need 535i brackets and calipers or just brackets in order to use them? I’ve heard mixed things in that the calipers are same and only the bracket will suffice and I’ve also heard they are similar but not completely the same and I’ll still need the calipers and brackets in order to fit them on the car. Any insight is appreciated, thank you.

Go to RealOEM.com, select your vehicle and then search for the rotor part number. If you get a hit, its a fit.

535i or 535xi(they are different). 535i got the 348/345 brakes same as the 550/545 and the 535xi got the same size brakes as the rest of the xi line up (324/320) while also being the same diameter as the smaller rwd brakes (530/528/525).

All you need to make it work is caliper brackets, rotors and pads; calipers themselves are different shape but the pistons are the same size and will bolt right on. (front pads are technically the same but youd never re-use them)

So, to make sure, I wouldn’t necessarily need the calipers from a 35, 45, or 50i. I could get just the brackets from one of those, and my 528 calipers would bolt to the brackets and would fit the new 348/45 rotors properly?

Correct for the front at least. I decided to paint them and switch them for my front anyways. (1 had a broken bleeder so I reused 1 of my calipers temporarily).

For the rear I know the caliper piston id larger and I cannot confirm if they will work as I have an xi chassis(which has different rotor spacing in the rear)

@LolaE60 Sounds like you're spending more sweat money than real money. Time = Money too.

Swapping rotors, brackets, and calipers is only an hour to an hour and a half job and a couple rear calipers and 4 brackets is about $100 at a yard. I was given new StopTech Rotors and pads by a buddy since he went to M5 brakes and because I replaced the turbos on his 535i for him. I’m not into this much time wise or money wise.

Yeah I checked it all out already, I’ll just need a couple rear calipers and 4 brackets and I’ll be set.I appreciate your help.
