Rubbing with 20's - Need Advice

My Ride: 2006 530i mystic blue
hi. i got 245 30 20s in front and 285 25 20 in rears. droped with ksports. i had the rear dropped all the way to tucking rim with out any rubing at all. i then raised it to tuck tire and it rides better but no issues either way. in front we set it down to tuck the top of the tire with no rubbing. hit one big dip and i got a rub but that was it. i wanted to try and set it lower in the front and we lowered it like 6 mm's more and the inner wheel wound of hitting the strut by like a MM. I have plenty of room on the outside of the wheel/fender so imma get a 5mm spacer so it clears the strut and still tucks in the fender. i live in jersey and i dont take any roads i know are shit because it rides harder then if i had meaty tires. if u live in nyc man i dunno i drive there in my big rig everyday and i dont know how people can stand those roads. there damaging in everyway. with a 275 30 20 i cant see you having any issues what so ever unless your wheel offset is wrong. with the 35 series in front its going to get really tight. dealling with fractions off mm's

I only have problems with my fronts they are Nitto 245/35/20. The edge the fender scrapes the side a bit if i turn too quickly

Problem is your front wheel is too wide at 9inches-the most it can take is 8.5-that is the source of the rubbing, not the tire. If you had that same tire on a 8.5 inch wheel than it would not be stretched as wide and you would have a little bit higher sidewall-but you wouldnt rub--so go rub one out why dont ya

oh really boy? im running 9.5 et 6 with zero rubbing
its the tire sizes that are the issue, not the wheels
once again you dont know what youre talking about

2) I am running 245/35/20 front with 275/30/20 rears. Rears rub a little, but I can roll my fenders much more than they are and I will (soon as I get around to asking Trinity to take care of it for me
)3) My front did, in fact rub, with stock sports suspension and H&R springs, since switching to KSport coilovers my fronts have never rubbed again.
So my suggestions would be to roll the rear fenders, check the clearance of the front tires, then see about going 245/30/20 front with your next set. The smaller sidewall isn't really that much smaller since it's a % of the width not a hard # like 35mm vs 30mm - the actual difference isn't really 5 mm, it's more like 12.25 mm. This difference shouldn't be too bad even in NYC, but I wouldn't run 25 series tires in the rear.

I agree, I have 255's in the front on 9.5 rim. Barely rubs when hitting dip and turning at speed. Havent done anything about it because its so barely noticeable.

Barely rubs means it rubs plain and simple--its cool if you want to destroy your susension. Try taking a corner with it rubbing slightly.
