Rubbing with 20's - Need Advice
So I just put on my 20x9 20x10 Forgeline wheels, and I wrapped them with 245/35/20 and 285/30/20 as Wheel Boutique told me that is what they normally run.
I needed to run thicker tires as I live in NYC and I dont need a bent rim or blow out. I am rubbing on dips or bumps.
1) are the 245/30/20 and 275/25/20 really much much skinner or am I silly for not getting them
2) If I roll my fenders should i be fine...scary because I have a KW suspension coming and I feel like I cant even lower it now.
I saw so many people on the forums running this setup. Odd that it rubs with 4 ppl in the car to even 2 on some dips. I figured I should roll my fender
regardless, but didn't have time. Flat road its fine...do i roll or do i bite the dollars and sell these tires and get new ones. Will they be terrible more bumpy and feel more than the current setup.

I've read a few people running 285/25/20 on the rears and they have no issues... I think that the rears can be 275/30/20 and I think most members have that setup on the rears. Your 285/30/20 may be over sized for the non-M5 but I'm not 100% sure either. perhaps rolling your fenders will resolve your problem with that tire setup.
I run the tyre size you first quoted as I too didn't want to have bent wheels. Mine rubs with 4 people a tiny bit on dips at the back. The fronts I had rolled and the sticking out plastic bit where the bumper meets the front arch, as my previous M6 alloys rubbed.
Do you have any pics of how your car sits over the tyres?
I think rolling and trimming back the plastic bits will solve your problem.

Get the 275s...I made the same mistake and it cost me $$$ to have the Eibach springs taken off and OEM suspension put back on because it was rubbing too much for my liking. I have Bilsteins now to go with my Eibachs and they're all sitting comfortably in the garage until I get the 275s for the rear.
If only I had joined he forum sooner!
edit:: or the 285-25-20 instead of 285-30-20 that I have now.

you will not make it with 245/30/20 and 275/25/20 tires in NYC lol..I personally would rise up the car a little bit maybe drop it like 0.5- 0.75 to minimize the rubbing. problem solved without spending extra $$$ to do the fender rolling or get different tires.
this is really simple
run 245/35 and 275/30 for tire setup, that should give you adequate protection and solve your rubbing problem
inside clearance is almost always the issue, e60s have wide fenders from the strut out, but from the strut in it does shrink quickly
