Well you guys enjoy wasting your money on this. Remember sleepyca was the one who gave you the tranny reset-and yet he is a moron huh? What is the most viewed and used thread ever-yes you guessed it so before you call people morons why dont you actually look at their knowledge base and ask the RPI people to step up to the plate-do you all believe anything you are told. Ok guys go spend 500 bucks for that 25 hp on your 545s/550s! Enjoy that

What is this saying then-where do you not see "20 hp gain" listed? I see it pretty clearly listed her for even the 530 which is ludicrous.

Either way this is bad info.
1. If it is implying that you have a scoop already and you get this tune-you will get these hp numbers. Which as I keep saying you do not need a tune to maximize a scoop so why say this in the first line
2. If this simply means a tune alone will give you this power-then it is still clearly off because like you admit no tune is going to do this.

I should have been more specific to state things in p percentages-an m5 has 500hp so 10 hp is 2 percnet gain v. 20 hp on 250 or 300 8 percent or so. I will give you that with 500hp an ecu tune can give you 10 or maybe 15 hp. It is all relative to what you begin with. I will say there is no way to squeeze more than 2 percent more hp out of any NA engine that is maximally tuned.

So instead of getting all defensive, why not educate me since I may be in the wrong. I atleast am not understanding the benefit of this tune. If a scoop alone gives you 5-7 hp then this is saying with the tune you will get the listed numbers agove-so how does that happen with this scoop? How does your stock ecu not fully compensate for an air scoop that is increasing oxygen by decently small amounts compared to FI obviously? Just curious you may be more an expert than me?

And ifu you admit to it being unlikely to make 20 hp then why are you not agreeing with me that these numbers are a fraud because no tune will give you these numbers on AN engines.

I dont know if we are disagreeing as you stated both that the scoop does not need a tune for maximum benefit and the ecu tune will not produce more than 10 hp. Where is the disagreement
The ratings listed above are crank hp gains which I think is underated. How can you tune a stock car for more power? The ecu has set parameters which follow a formula based on the reading and information sent to it. When you add an intake or exhaust that makes power alone, it will allow some power to be gained. Since the ecu mapping was designed for use with oem parts, a tune can help make more power. In the instance with the the ram air intakes. The engine is breating better and more air is coming in. The tune allows ignition timing advance and allows for a slightly leaner AFR since we have cool air coming in. You CAN NOT do the same with an AFE intake or other hot air type. The IATs simply get too hot. The tune also gets rid of the speed governer which many people like. It also helps with throttle response as the delay parameters are changed. Many people like this since they buy the sprint booster which does the same thing but in a piggy back form. The scoop does NOT need a tune to make power but it CAN benefit from a tune. Are the numbers BIG? No, but for many people the small improvement in hp/tq and the drivability of the car with the tune make it worth it for them.

BTW, thanks sleepyca for the tranny reset trick, that was one solid contribution to the forums. It's unfortunate that you haven't learned how to post with a little more tact and avoid the personal attacks. I can't speak for the admins but if I were a betting man, I'd say that if it weren't for those types of attacks, you probably would have never been banned... :thumbsdown:

Sorry for the late replies. What exactly do you want me to do to "step up to the plate?" I am RPI so dont take what others are saying to be from me. If you want me to step up to the plate, explain how you want me to do so. Want to set up a run with a stock car and one with a tune? Come on. We can all have a constructive discussion without getting stupid.
