My Ride: 08 550i, 6 Speed Manual w/Sport Pkg, Black
RPI Exhaust, Turner 15mm Rear Spacers, 20% Tint
First day with the new RPI.
Must say that I had my "concerns".
At hwy speed it's nearly silent.
WOT is flat out fun - sounds really good.
it does drone a bit at low RPM's (sub 2000k) when holding that speed.
However, I have heard people claim that after a few thousand miles - it softens down a bit.
I can tell an increase in HP but only at high RPM's.
Overall - I'm stoked. It's great to hear the V8.
I'm going to do the Dinan Intake next (perhaps with the chip).
Will pull a dyno to see what it really did for increased power.
Next mod: M5 Rear Deck Lid
Fun car - still hate the throttle responce feel.
Wish this car had a "sport mode" for manuals like my E46 M3 did.
Chow (for now)

RPI or bust! I love my exhaust, really put the V8 sound and feel where it should.
I don't have any throttle lag on my 545i, 6-speed. I replaced the CDV with the Zeckhusen drilled one and it made a significant difference. I do also have a speed innovation chip/tune (bought my car with it) so I'm not sure which item cleared my throttle lag or if it's a combination of both.
Welcome and enjoy the exhaust!

If you get the sprintbooster you wont feel the throttle lag anymore, especially with the RPI.. welcome to the RPI family

The sprintbooster and the Dinan software will cure the throttle response issues mentioned in the OP, and the intake will increase power and give a bit of intake roar to go along with the RPI exhaust roar!
