PM flyingpuck regarding an exhaust cone that could potentially reduce the droning.

You can read more from Dave's postings,
http://forums.e60.net/index.php?act=Search...%2Bcone+droning
Ok I PM'd flyingpuck about the cone. It's just that I am worried that no one has the drone that I do.

It [droning] may be a subjective matter
Have you checked to make sure that the exhaust was hung on the rubber mounts properly?

Yea, I was even watching the entire install. The only thing I can think of is the clamp leaking...

Ok, I just took a look into the exhaust. I found that each cylinder has a bump. Is this normal?
Sorry for the annoying questions, I just want to track down this droning problem.

Yes this bump or restiction is normal. Read my post (http://forums.e60.net/lofiversion/index.php/t74724.html) as to why it's necessary.

Is this a cat-back or just the muffler you have from RPI? If you have a straight through muffler like this, there is bound to be some droning. Your possible solutions would be to add resonators or replace the muffler .

Dynamat is cheap. I had to do my entire underbelly of my car too, since I have all 3 sections and it was pretty cheap. I think I paid around $140 for enough material to layer this entire area. I put the mat in so only the outside would sound like a fighter jet was flying by. I didn't need the passengers inside to know a F-16 was on top of them.

Biiiiiiiiiiya!

I just installed some over the exhaust heat shield and it didn't help at all...

I called the shop where I got it installed and they are going to take a look at it.

You're 16, you should be playing your music so loud that you can't hear anything inside or outside your car!
