Naa. I said 600 is plenty. You will be fine with 600. Just don't sit there and blast music with the engine off.
There is no remote line to tap off of. I used the rear cig. lighter and tapped off of that line which doesn't power up unless the engine is on.

From what I understood the problem was that it was not a regular remote line and it was a fiber optic line or that if it wasn't a fiber optic line then it was that the amp will stay on for however many minutes after you turn the car off.

All the electronics in our cars stay on after the engine has been turned off (for I think it's 3 minutes.) before they go into sleep mode, so you're right this would be no different. In my case, I didn' t consider it a big deal or, more accurately, a big enough deal to go and jerry-rig something. Again, to me, the hassle of running wire in these cars (at least where wire is not already run) is not something I really wanted to tackle.

Can you (or anybody else) recommend a quality audio installer on Long Island, or NYC? I run a search but so far, no luck.

It is fairly easy to do yourself if you know a little about electronics/wiring. You only need to tap 3 wires.
I can only recommend in Northern California. Sorry
