E60 is suppose to be a very modern, stylish car, I think this 16" just doesn't match too well.

I think u can see them all here: www.bmwwheels.com
Didn't realize there are so many to choose from. At least the above style 115 is better looking than the style 134 which comes standard in US spec 525 non sport pkg (am I right?).

Swapped mine to style 122 17", btw, style 122 and 138 are almost identical...

Is it true that the factory rims bigger than 16" are runflats and my dealer has told me that the make more noise and are not so comfy as the normal tyres

Give my dealer a call. They might have a good price on the 18" M-Sport wheels they traded in from me. They are brand new!
The dealer is Bert Story in Waardenburg.

They are the best 16" style I have seen for the e60. The other two options aren't great.

I have the type 116 for the winter (the ones you get with the 545i standard over here). No I don't take my car to my skivacation (I go by train) but when the temperature drops below 7 degrees celsius wintertires give you more grip then summertires. Especially my current bridgestone tires don't grip well in cold rainy conditions. I bought the winterwheels for safety because tests show that with temperatures lower then 7 degrees you have a much shorter stopping distance then with normal tires.

And you never know if we ever get snow over here hahaha..
