My Ride: 2005 545i step, nav, sport, 166 wheels, premium sound, don't need nothin' else.

I am contemplating the sport package on my new E60. Can anyone tell me if the tires can be changed to standard tires from run flats on the same rims?

Also, what do you think of doing a ED in January? (Not my first choice but the timing works for my wife's schedule).

Thanks in advance for all your support.

Yes, you should be able to use any tire you want that will fit the rims. Please weigh the pros and cons of runflats before deciding on them. Mine are noisy and beginning to sound whose than a truck after some 12,000 km. Sportiness (sports package) nedd not necessarily mean such harsh rides!

The ride is definitely a factor as I often have clients in the car. I think that the sport package with less harsh riding tires will be the perfect marriage for me. Thanks for your input.

Hey, Iceman how about a heads up on th January ED?

Something to think about - my dealer told me that going to non-runflat tires would increase your chances of wheel damage, as the runflats have thicker sidewalls. made sense to me.

Delivery in Jan will be cold. In Bavaria there is likely to be snow on the ground. It still will not be bad. It seems to get bad in this area around teh end of Feb.
