PITA since the prod date is exactly around when stuff changed.
Man, you need to go back and read the thread again. You are still lost... with no good reason.

Surely the easiest and most conclusive way to find out what you have is to pop your glass out of the mirror then pop the rear cover off the mirror.. if you have a round black module on the back of the mirror then you are Post Sept 2005.. if not then you are presept05

Once more and once only, before sept 2005 you have door modules which controls the mirrors and door functions, buy SA430 mirrors and swap them over, code door modules and job done.
After sept 2005, no door modules instead you have a KGM module, buy SA430 mirrors, wire them up to the KGM module, code KGM module and job done.

Understand now?

Blood, can I make my folding mirrors fold in and out at high speed, enough to make my E60 fly? What Netodata coding is required for that?

Bruce, do you know what colour wires i need to be matching upto.. (i.e. what is in the plug that goes into the mirror)

the wires from the fold motor on a post2005 are yellow and white, the puddle light brown & black.. these (typically) dont match upto what is in my pre2005 mirror plug.. I have attached a pic of my mirror plug...

(these in clockwise order are: pink, yellow&black, blue, orange, red, "not used", white, green)

am I missing something?

thanks. got it. i was under the impression i need to actually put in the KGM module myself but they should be already there. if not there then the car its pre sept 2005.
my other question would be do you know how the wiring looks like for the mirrors with KGM modules in the doors? and if i buy a pair of mirrors which have different connections can they still be connected by matching the cables? only thing i'd need is auto folding and heated mirrors (auto tilt would be awesome too but seems not many got that working)

I am assuming that I am missing a set of wires from my harness then... does any one know or know where I can find out what wires I am missing.. the colour and the pin locations?

any one who has power fold mirrors from presept2005 can you help?

thanks
