is it number 9 in the diagram below for the KGM? one for driver and one for passenger door?

9 Door module, co-driver 61 35 9 110 846 ... ? '05, September
9 Door module, driver 61 35 9 110 845 ... ? '05, September

if those are it then i should have them in my car i think.

Do I need to new harness if my seats are not memory? How big work is that? What if I want to retrofit memory seats too, is that a big job? Going to see one today after work hopefully, how much rewiring is involved in it. Seats are from pre-LCI (I guess) 2006 model (not sure which month)
Could get the whole lot (seats, door cards, mirrors) all from the same car.

Hi to all,

Since there seem to be many experts contributing to this thread, I was wondering if there is a rule of thumb regarding the number of wires exiting the mirror unit and compatibility ?
My car is a UK 2003 model, and have been offered some mirrors from a 2006 model that come with three separate wired plugs, and would like to know if I should get them. The info in this thread would seem to suggest that the fact that they have 3 wired plugs makes them okay, or am I just a dunce, please ?

I have also been offered some mirrors with two plugs (one plug is maroon and one is black). I have been told these are from a 2006 car but can anyone confirm this?

I also have a 2006 car so these would be ideal

Jas on a 2006 car there is only 1 plug on the active mirrors, 3 wires :- red for live, green for LIN bus and brown for ground, there's a mini ECU inside the mirror that controls every thing and receives control codes direct from the KGM module via the LIN bus.

Tylerdurden, those mirrors are not suitable for your car, you need to get a set of 2003 mirrors.

BLooD, Thx for the clarification. Is there a specific number of cables or any external identifying features specific to a 2003 set (or a pre-2005 set if those will also fit) please ?

Yes you have door modules fitted, the mirrors plug into these and your setup is actually much easier for doing this retrofit.
Depending wether the mirrors have puddle lights or not, there will be two cable harness on the mirrors each with it`s own plug, one for the glass and one for the folding motor,
If they have puddle lights there will be an extra purple coloured plug and cable.

For us with the KGM module we have a little more choice, the mirrors I got are from an early 2008 LCI.
