Is there a retro fit or some kind of mod that will allow pre 09/2006 build date vehicles to be able to add Real Time Traffic Information capability to the Navigation system? What options does a pre 09/

If your car is produced sept 2006 does that mean it was an option or not?

As far as I understand it would mean it was an option on a Sept 2006 build date vehicle, which should be a 2007 Model year vehicle.

I had a scheduled appointment with the dealership this morning so I took the opportunity to ask about this RTTI retrofit option. Based on what I was told the pre 09/2006 build vehicles would need to have a factory digital tuner installed. This Digital Tuner This requires an extensive amount of rewiring throughout the vehicle which would therefore cause this factory retro fit to be cost prohibitive. An impromptu guesstimate from the parts guy was ~$4000+ for parts and labor.

To retrofit the RTTI in any pre-09/2006 BMW you need to replace your current CCC with a 09/2006-on CCC... the RTTI tuner is built-in.
