Unhappy

I purchased some really sharp looking wheels (rims & rubber) off of the internet and had them shipped to me (Replicas). I upgraded from the factory 17" to 18" with all seasons. To be safe I had them installed and speed balanced by a BMW dealership. There was a very noticeable vibration/shake starting at about 40kmh. I had the wheels checked and rebalanced twice before putting my factory wheels back on and retiring my beautiful rims to my storage unit.

I didn't want to pay the $4500 for nicer wheels from the dealership...but ended up wasting $1500 on these tires. Does anyone have any advice or referrals where I can get some well priced wheels for my car?

Hopefully you tried some Hubcentric Rings for your wheels? Odds are that aftermarket knock offs will not have the same inner diameter as the factory. I am sure you tried this but thought I would throw it out there. Also, if that is NOT the problem then get your money back..the wheels could be bent or have some sort of factory defect?

+1 for hubcentric rings. Check it!
I had similar problems with my previous wheels (replicas) even with rings. Then I asked a workshop to make rings and problems got solved.
I suggest hubcentric rings made by aluminium!

I also roadforced balanced my replica rims and winter tires at the local Porsche dealership and the rims and tires are as smooth as silk.

What kind of reps. did you go with? I have 19" Miro 346's and have only great things to say about them!

Yeah, your wheels look hot! I am not sure what brand they were replicating. They are black with chrome lips 18" and I had Nexus All Seasons put on based on the recommendation of the dealer. I do not like the Nexus tires, they were economical but I keep getting asked if they are winter tires as they have a really thick tread. Funny thing is that they have NO traction what so ever in snow. I had to throw my factory wheels on last winter for a ski trip. lol...

Learned my lesson on the tires for sure.

Damn! +1 for hubcentric rings, that's most likely the problem. If not maybe a wheel or two are seriously warped!
