My Ride: 2004 545i - Bone stock... help!
Default

Guys,

An extremely tall curb jacked my stock front splitter up, making me so very low. I went to the dealer to price a replacement and they are offering a special this month on M-kits+install for a little over $3,600 US. Now he's telling me that parts alone cost 4k US, which may be true here since parts are extremely expensive. (M166 wheels for 3k, no tires, as an example).

What do you guys think? I was hoping to get the wheels first but this could be a good opportunity to snag the m-kit at a reasonable price. It will put off the purchase of new shoes for a few months, which will look funny. M-kit with stock Question, out of curiousity - does this effect the resale value of the car negatively?

Thanks for the advice,

-Dirk

M166 wheels for 3K? Garry@Newport has them at around 17-1800.

RE: Msport kit, check the classifieds for better pricing.

Contact Gary Romani at BMW Newport. I think its about 1300 for the M kit? I may be off by a hundred or so. This is what people have been telling me. You can have someone else install the M Kit.

+1 for both of the above a statements. Vendors on this board will chime in with better pricing, I am sure. GL

dont get the M-kit nor wheels from the dealer.

let me give you an advice, from a fellow middle-eastern.I lived in Lebanon,Saudi and Bahrein and know the prices and market well. if you want some wheels, check the used wheels department, so many UAEssss buy their M5s and change their rims directly to bigger wheels as soon as it gets from the factory. other then that, get after market wheels. or u can PM Wees75, he lives in saudi and dubai. He changed his wheels to 166. ask him about the pricing.

As for the M-kit, try contacting eurorev(john@eurorev) trinity(newyll or R1racer). they have some good prices on M-Tech plus shipping would prob add about a few hundreds not much.still is below 3500$.

as for the resale, just keep ur stock in the garage and once u want to sell ur car, part it out and sell the parts.

But as u said, i would go with wheels first, but if ur bumper is damanged, than go with it

Yep, my 'invisible' 166's cost me 2000 and look real nice on my car! I still have to strain in
order to at least 'think' that I see them.

Oh, no one even notices it, by the way.
