Getting a right low beam malfunction. Right after a courtesy BMW car wash. hmmm?
Can I use these to replace my halogens http://www.hid-lights.com/products/h...2009/GP85.htm? If not what can I use, I want a brighter light.

I'm also looking at replacing the H7 headlight bulbs. If you want a brighter light you could consider Philips Xtreme.

For an HID look, the Mtec Cosmos Blue White 4750K are proving very popular for those wanting HID look without HID kit. There's another bulb Philips Diamond Vision 5000K which also gives the HID/Xenon look but it costs more than the Mtec.

I'm trying to decide whether to go for the Mtec Cosmos Blue White or the Philips Diamond Vision. I'll also change the HB4/9006 fog lights bulbs and have the same make as the ones I put in the headlights. One thing I found is that blue bulbs such as the above and the GP Thunder range may look good but they can be less bright than stock. So if you want the brightest and a good beam throw, Philips Xtreme have had good reviews. Some have tried 100w bulbs instead of the standard 55w but have risked burning the wires.
I've been looking into halogen bulb upgrades as I'm not quite convinced about fitting an aftermarket HID kit into reflector type headlamps which I have on my pre-LCI. Not sure about the beam pattern / glare without projectors. Officially (in the UK and I guess elsewhere too) all aftermarket HID kits are actually illegal where there is no auto light levelling and headlamp washers on the car. If I could afford them I'd have the OEM Xenon headlamps but for now I'm considering just changing the H7 & HB4 bulbs ! Let us know which ones you end up going for.

Once that is sorted out you can shop for replacement (brighter) halogen replacement bulbs. There are several options you can shop for.
What you want to avoid is the dealer having any opportunity to accuse you of tampering with a system and causing the problem !

You're under warranty - I recommend you tell your dealer to diagnose the problem and if it's the lamp, to replace it ... IF that's the problem.
