Michelin PS2

I guess it sounds like the PS2 is more of a over all tire where as the Pilot Sport is more for grip and racing?

Do you get bett road feel with the PS2?

I think that the PS2s are the better all around performance tire. I also chose them because they are very light. I am not sure if they are lighter than the Pilot Sports, but I suspect they are.

Dang, after convincing myself that I wanted to stay with Runflats I now want PS2's!!! (And I'm not talking about Playstations!!!)

I'm going to ask about a space-saver spare next Saturday whilst my car is being serviced... ?150 I reckon!

I learned so many of you swiched to the PS2 on this forum. It's only been a few days but the smooth ride and lower noise level is wonderful.? As mentioned by others, the crispness of response on turns is not as high, but I have yet to try higher tire pressures.? So far, on the few hard turns I tried, there was no loss of grip and ever so slightly increase of body roll. Again, higher pressure may help here.? On slower turns, there was no difference of body roll between the tire types.? The
Bottom line, I traded in sports car crispness for limosine ride.? I

The PS2's generate higher cornering forces than the Bridgestone RFs. Fix your tire pressures.

BTW, If your car is has more body roll it is because it is cornering harder.

Good responses there!
If you look at car specs I gave, I have 530 + sport package which means 18 inch wheels 245/40 both front and back.
Until I got PS2's I didn't know I had spare donut in trunk. Dealer said I wouldn't have it...but I did.
Look up reviews and specification of these tires on Tirerack database. I researched the numbers a lot before deciding. I took lower load rating PS2 to lower weight for same price. Tread wear and handling numbers were what sold me on PS2; PS were inferior by a lot. Was looking at Eagle F1 GS-D3 but couldn't get them as easily for some reason. Better treadwear was one objective. Experience says better treadwear resistance should relate to better gas mileage. However experience also says better treadwear implies less cornering grip. I guess the dual rubber formulation has something to do with that. I will not know untill driving a few months.
Still no tech answer for slip angle issue...

?150 is right on the money - twice the price of getting it as a factory option! You'll also need to have the underfloor carpet switched - with the one that comes with RF-equipped cars, the 'hole'/space is slightly too small to take the standard 17'' spare.

If you're looking for a slightly more economical alternative to PS2s, try the ContiSportContact2 - that is what I switched my RFs for, a massive improvement in roadholding and comfort.

Won't the PS2's be lighter than the DSST's? (May be not 37lbs though!?)

Just learned I was the first at my dealership to switch away from runflats. Makes me curious to learn just how many of us dared to make the transition??? As a parallel question, when you did change away from RF's, were you similarly unique or is it commonplace to do so where you are? I would think people in snow country would likely be candidates.

Dear all,
1- Driving is not a game! it is dangerouse.
2- Confort is realy important in the sofa, at home.

So, let see:

We must always use the most performant products. They help us to have a more safety drive.

Concerning RF tyres they are always beter for two main reasons:
1- They run flat. (do you imagine the importance of this??)
2-More performant (less time between to points)
3-.......
..........
Concerning the Michelin PS and the PS2, it is very easy. the PS are very old concerning tyers thecnology.

Sorry for my bad English

Weight and ... for me:

PS2's versus Pilot Sports = 8 lbs. of unsprung weight = 1.6 HP And, the PS2's are at least as good as the Pilot Sports on other performance dimensions IMO.
