Reliability of the Umnitza Orion V2.
Unfortunately it happened , those were installed in July last year , worked perfectly fine till last week , the X12 half ring dimmed most of the time ( picture attached ) , as you said ,, it sounds like soldering loose issue but i doubt it's the power pox problem because the inner ring works fine unless its something wrong inside the power box itself ,, will give it another try once the guy comes back during the day so I can have a look and try to troubleshoot more ..
For us installers, we can't be doing free labor (nor do we have the time) in reopening and replacing the ring(s) in the headlights if the issue comes down to defective manufacturing. It wouldn't make sense at all, not to mention it will cause resealing to be even more of a challenge.
We're not falsely reassuring you guys. We really have isolated this issue. Please keep 2 things in mind when installing.
It's a bad set of rings with faulty soldering, we have received all new rings now and they do not have this issue (there is extra solder in that spot)
This is literally isolated in the last 4 weeks of orders (which is about 20-30 units) it should not affect (no more than 1% at the worst) previous installs.
Also, something very strange, we use these exact same rings on the E92 installs and to this day have never had 1 failure. They are the same rings exactly. Also, we have never had this issue on any of the installs we've done locally.

Not to go back and forth, since nobody really wins, but this isn't as described. The one ring I had that went wonky on me was from last year. If I remember correctly, purchased around January of last year, and it worked fine for over 6 months with no issue. Wtlb, who just shared that his has done it once (so far the only customer that has told me this) his was purchased more than a month ago. Plus if we were to think back, this has been reported by tex_phil, and DK with even his previous set as well. I am not sure, but TheRacerBoss might've encountered this, which is why he tried to build his own harness to introduce more power going to the rings. And of course, with Ehssan above is saying he just heard from one customer as well... so as little as it might be in terms of failure, it's still not really acceptable due to the process of installing these.
Personally, I like Orions, and until this starts happening to more of my clients, I will continue to recommend it. However, this problem needs to go.

as Simon Said : it's not happening everyday , maybe we should add some agreements with our customers just in case this problem accrued , because re opening the headlights after sealing it with very strong stuff wont be a nice job ,,,
also I need confirmation once more from umnitza : when you say we will replace the faulty ring but we need to have it shipped to us to repair it , Do you mean that we need to send you the ring , and wait till you receive it ,, then you either send the replacement or repair it and send it back ???
unfortunately my customer who has this problem now , his faulty ring is X12 , which I don't have any in stock ,, all I have is X11 ,,
If I have to send you the faulty ring first , that means 2 months of shipments going back and forth . People wont wait more than 24 hours to get the problem fixed , let's not talk about charges and who's gonna cover the cost since it might happened once or twice but hopefully not very often , ( maybe USA people wont have problem with that since shipping is easier that International customers ) ...
looking at the back of the X11 ring as an example , and the ring is sealed very well , I'm afraid if we try to remove the back cover of the ring just to re solder the joint in the middle , maybe we damage the ring ....
what do you advise .. ???

I am still having the same problem with my inner passenger ring. I will be meeting Simon this week and I hope I can get this solved.
