Damn. That sucks. I ended up replacing the ring. So far no issues from the buyer. Hope it all works out for you.

one my customers have the same issue , i'm waiting for him to show up today to have a look ,,, he said the big ring half is working , i thought maybe the power box issue since the big ring uses 2 ports of power ,, unfortunately his kit was sent from umntiza and the big ring was bigger in size ( I assume it's for X5 ) and it used single power ..

i will contact Matt to see what we can do for him , since his kit is just couple of months old ...

Ahh, this is the first time I have seen this happen on the little ring. It looks like you got the U shaped ones as well.

In the future, let Umnitza know you want the rings that I order. I've asked specifically for all my orders and my customers to have "these" specific rings. Been smooth sailing since they put that in the system for me.

Going back to your pic... there is a temp work around for this, but eventually/and actually the best thing is to replace the ring.

Simon, which specific rings are you referring to?

And sorry to hear about that Chris. Hope it all gets sorted out. Be sure to try the quick fix before you cut open your lights again.

Sorry for your troubles and of course we're going to replace it.

All of this has - after lengthy discussions with our engineers - been attributed to a small batch of 9X rings (not 12X) where if you put undue stress during install on the ring itself where it's "compressed" even a little, the two halves of the ring lose solder contact at the bottom center on the "negative" solder (the top of the center/bottom section of the ring is negative, the bottom of the center/bottom of the ring is positive).

If you know how to solder well, you can fix it yourself very easily. All the new batch rings have already had this additional solder during production done for them because this issue was earlier discovered on our 6X rings for another car. So anything from about February on should be fine, but some may have slipped through.

In any case, we can:
a) repair your ring
b) give you guidance on how to fix the ring (for time savings this is an option).
c) replace your ring (but we will need your rings back so we can repair them)

Please email us and we'll be happy to assist you quickly.

Dude, thats sux specially that you've gone through all this effort. Thats why I never wanted to open my headlights for this, I just went for Mtec V3's to be sure.
Hope it gets resolved, IMO if its really giving you a hard time just cut ur loses and go LCI : )

I just got my Orions installed about 6 weeks ago and this happened to me too as well. The inner left ring was half lite and then after a while it flickered on. This has only happened one time, but I will keep my eye open and check it every time before I go for a spin. I love the MOD, but don't want to open up my headlights again for fear of moisture getting in.

Oh wow, hit me up and let me know Mike. It's strange that the only time I have seen this in person was my own long ago, but it was the larger ring. But seems like for everyone else it's the small ring?

Ok.. wtf... I just got mine, but haven't installed it yet cause I am moving and didn't want to start my project til I got into my new place. To install or not to install is the question now!

Well, that's the risk you're going to have to take. Hopefully you won't have this problem. If you do, at least you know how to open it back up again.
