so i went to a guy who does detailing for cars and the like. he said the damage is surface deep and the silver plate might not be aluminium but some sort of plastic with an aluminium finish.
anyway in the end he said nothing can be done, best to get new ones.
did anyone actually try the sand paper method before and did it actually work?
if i do get new ones i will try to fix them before just to see anyway.
would be nice to know if the silver ///M plate would come off on its own to just try it on one.
