Rear View Camera/DVD player
#1
While I am waiting for my 545 to arrive I have been thinking that it would be cool to add a rear view camera and use the Nav screen.
Does any one know if there is a way to get either RGB or Comp video into the Nav system via an Aux input?.
If possible this will also enable people to play DVDs via many after market players.
I do not however advocate watching a DVD while Driving.
The Camera will be useful as the parking sensors can not see a child running into the back of your car whilest looking sideways! (happened to a friend of mine).
This could easily be wired to switch to the camera view when the car is in reverse.
I already have the camera!

My Ride: E60 "Stripper"
Now C6 "Stripper"
I want one too.
I saw in the German home market E60 accessories catalog that they have a split forward view camera and rear camera but according to Iceman both are not available as of yet.

The front and rear camera's are available for the 7 Series at the moment, but we are still waiting for the E60 5 series kits to be released by BMW

I think with a Nav Car you must have a RGB or Comp video signal going from the Nav deck to the display. At this juncture it can be intercepted and doctored by an A/V expert!
I will keep my eyes and ears open
