Rare setup on Xi - Bilstein B8 + H&R Springs
#31
The bilstein front struts are supposed to have built in bump stops and not require the factory ones or cut down factory ones. When I had the B6 with the H&R springs, I forgot and put in some M3 bumpstops that are shorter and it did seem to help but it was still rough. I gave up and sold the H&R springs and put the factory springs in with the B6's and it rides and handles great. It just looks like a 4 X 4.

so..it sounds like neither options is so great..
the H&R Springs with stock shocks are no good?
The H&R springs with the Bilsteins are no better either?
I might just keep it the way it is..not worth the hassle!

Read the thread! This is for Xi - as in, X-Drive equipped E60's. You have a lot more options available for the RWD E60

My Ride: 2004 BMW E60 530i, upgrades: Magnaflow exhaust, Mtec angel eyes and low beam head lights, Just purchased 172 style wheels, looking around for the best tires on Tire Rack now. R1 concepts rotors drilled/slotted. Saving for the M-style kit from Trinity Auto.
