Am considering buying a radar detector, and wondered how many of you guys have one, and which model would you recommend?
I know in the UK there is going to be a legality issue later in the year so any info on that would be welcome too. Thanks

I use the micro pilot. Can be fitted very discretely, I also have one fitted to my Audi allroad, and having driven 43,000 miles with it, can't live without it. Had one fitted to the BMW day after I picked it up.
Most of the GPS systems have the same abilities, main reason for buying was the very small size. Gives excellent early warning.

2005 545i 6-spd manual---->de-badged, CDV removal, Autosolutions short shift kit, resonator removal, premium package, PDC, xenon, almost full options, hardwire V1 install ....looking for mods...
2007 550i 6-spd----> Premium package, sport package, Logic7, heated everything, Rogue Engineering SSK, CDV removal, hardwire V1 install, aFe cold air intake, Custom Magnaflow exhaust....
Valentine One is the best out there and it worked really well fo me....although I stil get caught by laser which is impossible to detect on time due to its nature. The only annoying feature about the V1 is that it tends to give out many false alarms....

I have a Snooper SD 715Is. I bought it after I was nicked from a motorway bridge doing 90mph. It does pick up a lot of false alarms which is annoying and I've yet to experience it warning me of any speed traps ahead. It does however pick up speed cameras well but then again they're all highlighted anyway.

Valentine 1 for me. It has been great so far. The arrows, identifying where the radar source is, helps immensely. I highly recommend V1.
