Default Question about back up camera compatibilty with my 550i

Below is a link to a back up cam and I just want to make sure it is compatible with my 08 550i:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/121704445044?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
If it is compatible will I need anything else?

Thanks for the help!

If you're hoping to add in backup camera with just a camera.. then you need a lot more. There's a thread recently someone found a more affordable unit to retrofit along with a camera. Do some reading, I haven't decided if I'm going to bother trying to retrofit it all or not..

Depending if your car has a CCC or CIC, you would need a mulimedia interface to connect backup camera. I've done one my self recently

I did some digging and it looks like it is quite a process to get converted to a CIC camera. Is there a CCC camera that would make it plug n' play?

For the most, the multimedia interface for the CCC unit is plug n play. Just to remove the iDrive screen to install the connectors and also connect a pnp harness to the ccc Unit. Shouldn't take more than 30mins. Generally looking within a price range of $170+ US for a new one. Then the cost of which ever cameras you choose to install.

Do you know where I can find a pnp harness to connect to the CCC unit?

BMW iDrive (CCC) Multimedia Video Interface :: BMW :: XCarLink

Although you can check other places,

Like ebay, amazon, or any other websites i guess.

It looks like this basically

BMW CCC E60 61 63 E70 71 E90 91 92 93 3 5 6 x5 x6 Multimedia Interface with Pip | eBay
