Video and sound clip attached. Most of you are on the close with the straight pipes, but it's not exactly straight pipe (cherry bomb). The droning in the cabin is killing me at the slow acceleration speed, but above 2500 rpm, man, it's a beauty. It's the loud idle and slow acceleration sound that causes the most noise and droning inside the cabin.

I reduced the image to reduce the file size, but the sound has not been reduced. You'll hear idle sound and the sound at 2000 rpm. You'll have to turn on the speakers (make sure you got bass turned on) to hear the note. I'll record some more clips tomorrow. Got to put the kids to sleep now, but more when they are all asleep . . .

Sounds good! I watched the video before I read your post and was like... "why the hell is this video so damn small?!" And then I read your post, "ahhh... file size."

alright, the kids are asleep . . . below is the setup.

1. Factory 2.25 dual pipes from headers to 2 factory resonators.
2. Removed third factory resonator box and replaced with magnaflow x-pipe
3. 2.25" dual pipe to the tail with 4" round muffler magnaflow (2.25" inlet) on each side
4. Had to knock the battery bxo corner in a little bit to fit the dual tips.
5. Then dual 3" tips stainless steel magnaflow with 2.25 inlets

POV coming from a guy who thinks sports/luxury sedan should be just that and not a sports car:

1. At idle, the sound is nice low toned rumble, but the volume is about 5 times that of stock at 750 rpm. Turn the AC off and the sound level drops near stock at 500 rpm. I prefer the stock decibel, but the sound of magnaflow rumbling is very nice.

2. If I shift at 1500 rpm, cabin droning is minimalized. If I slow accelerated (like most traffic), the cabin droning is unbearable at 1500 rpm to 2000 rpm. I can't even hear the radio. It's very loud inside (with windows open or close), and the exhaust note from the outside begins to sound more like a v8 ricer at about 2000-2500 rpm. Then at 3000 rpm, the sound becomes distinctive "racing" and COOL.

Basically, it sounds like a Hemi truck with mod exhaust at idle and slow acceleration, but at accelerations of 2500-3000 rpm, the sound is sweeeet and not loud and obnoxious.

On the freeway, 60-65 mph (2K rpm range), the cabin can get loud. But at 70 mph and beyond, it's exactly like stock until you give it some gas; the sweet exhaust notes to the ear.

I miss my stock exhaust already. except at 3000+ rpm, magnaflow rules.

Anybody with suggests on dramatically reducing the resonance (cabin droning)?

Don't wanna be loud, that's the problem. I'll see if I can shot some more clips tomorrow on acceleration and stationary. Stay tune . . .

Hey Bimmer32 i have the same setup and the same problem.

The only way i figured out to stop the droning was to turn up the knock.

I'm sure you can put a few resonators in there to minimize the droning.

Please elaborate. I would love to stop the droning and tone down the exhaust note at <2500 rpm to a more "whooooo" lower sound rather than a loud "attention grabbing sound.
