My Ride: '05 545i - scheduled for ED pickup in Munich on 7/22!
So you had this done by X-OST/Maranello? I've heard many good things about them over at ferrarichat.com. From what I read, it seems X-OST is a new company founded by former employees at Tubi. Quality seems to be on par with Tubi, but at a substantially lower price.
FYI: if this exhaust goes into production then I'm sure our USA members will be able to get their hands on it from www.ricambiamerica.com. They are the distributers for X-OST here, althought right now they only carry exhausts for Ferrari and Porsche 996/997.

Yes, X-Ost/Maranello .
Yes, good guys with whim to work well .
Yes, prices are good and the parts well done .
Yes, they make exhaust mainly for Ferrari and Porsche .
I have to come back there with a friend with a remapped E400 CDI : he wants the E55/63 rear :-) .
I have to ask, yes, if they want to go into production and put it on that site ... In US there are many 545i . And perhaps it would fit also on 550i ?
Good price, many HP gained ... I think it could be a good idea .
I will put 100 or 200 cells kat, I will make other clips, maybe a dyno ... And I will post results here, if you like .

Eheh, yes, we have to make clips ... Yesterday with the cell I and a friend have made only this one :
Copia_di_VIDEO_00012.avi
(save as and rename it with .mp4 extension)
PS :
About your exhaust .. The engine is a V8, you can have only the sound of the V8 .

Incredible :
From real 100 kmh (102 kmh on speedometer - measured with the 'V EFF' secret men? of the board computer) to real 200 kmh (205-206 kmh) : gained something like 0.5s .
Before, with old exhaust :
Attachment 28499
(about 14.4s)
With new exhaust :
Attachment 28500
(about 13.9s)
But you have to count 2 things :
a) the 14.2 of BEFORE was in sequential gear mode ... It change gears to rev limiter, 6600 with map . The AFTER is in Drive mode : only 6400-6500 rpm and the change of gear is slower .
b) during 14.2 I was on trip, the car was hot ... This 13.9 I go from home in the city to the highway, 10 km ..
I have to remake the 100-200 when I will have the car hot (for performance is important that the gear be hot) and in sequential mode .
Conclusion : adding 0.3s gained on 0-100 to (at least) 0.5s on the 100-200 ... It results 1s on 0-200 .
When the sun will come back I will try a 0-100 with acceleration assist (a sort of "launch control") .
A little note : my 5 has only 20k km, she have to gain something more with the next 20k km .

Here the video of 13.5s :
100_200_reali_poco_preciso.mov
Here with the stock exhaust (about 14.2s) :
100_200.mov
About 0.7s gained, but the 14.2 was in sequential, the 13.5 was in Drive : I have to try 100-200 in Sequential to see the real gain .
That day I have done 20 videos on the highway and for mistake I have uploaded the slower .
Sorry again, bye!

Take some clips of a few agressive launches from the outside.
For now I have only this :
Copia_di_VIDEO_00012.avi
(change extension from .avi to .mp4)
Within sunday I think I can do some clips, ok

very clean and nicely made.
What are the tip diameters? ( the titanium oval )

Joking apart, I think something like 80-85 mm the long "diameter" of the oval : watching them I guess they have the perfect size .
I will open a new thread when I will have made kats, spoken with the fab for production etc.
