Dinan offers their own warranty ... but since they're so closely tied with BMW.... it's pretty much a BMW warranty as those dealerships that offer Dinan must meet certain requirments whith BMW.. such as x # of Master techs / service bay and some other ones........ [/quote]
Daymn.. why do i keep getting logged off!! sorry!

Dinan offers their own warranty all right, but the significant issue is that a Dinan chip will not void the BMW warranty. Other Dinan products work the same way. That is one reason that Dinan costs more. They do more research for their engineering and work closely with BMW on why the OEM restrictions are in place to start with.

Yeah.. i also read somewhere that something is in the works to further enhance the relationship between Dinan / BMW much like the AMG/ MBZ relationship...... but since BMW is German and Dinan is from the US.. there's politics involved...... curenntly looks like Alpina has an upperhand (ex Z8 now)... in becoming BMW HQ's favorite tuner........

So Dinan is in the US what ACS is in Germany.
BMW dealers recommend the ACS tuning since you don't lose the warranty.

The very first BMW sales person I talked with seriously in 1996 suggested that a Dinan chip might be just the ticket for me after we shared driving a demo. :winkcool: Also, it was during that initial demo trip that I knew I would never buy a demo. I know that you say BMW engines are built to take it, but I do believe we can shorten the life.

In holland non of the tuners is supported.. ACS or Alpina would be great.. don't understand why they don't work with them.

Our biggest BMW dealer here in Cincinnati installs Dinan parts and they do not void the original warranty. Anyone know when Dinan will come out with a 545 chip?? I might consider that.

Yeah. kinda.. except dinan does not have the pedigree (in my OPINION) that ACS has.. dinan is too conservative and unwilling to take risks... they are safe... granted. .but i'd rather they be more like ACS and cater more to Enthusiasts sp?

I'd like to see a Dinan tuned engine for the E60 soon. Might do that rather than a powerchip.
