I've been speaking to Matthew Booker at Powerchip Inc. I've been asking them for months about a chip for the N52 engine in the 530i/xi (Stock HP: 255). They currently have a chip available for the 2004/2005 E60 530i (Stock HP:225 / Powerchip HP: 238), but nothing for the newer engine.
Anyway, he told me that R&D is finishing up and production should be out shortly. He said there's been high demand and they are aware of this. Since I've been hounding him for a while, he told me he would offer a Group Buy to E60.net members, once production was set. No details on how many orders and what the price would be, but just thought I'd throw it out there. Matt's been pretty responsive, so I'm sure I'll hear from him in the coming weeks when it becomes available.
If anyone would be interested, feel free to post something so we can get an idea of how many "YES'" we'd get once the Group Buy becomes avail..
Stay tuned...

cmans,
I've been telling people that look into remapping ECUs to always do a before and after dyno chart. There is no other way of really knowing if the remapped ECU increased your hp and torque.

ive been looking into chipping also.
i know eurobahn offers one for the N52 engine also. and also, vf engineering is developing a cold air intake plus chip (i think their's is by giac) but i forgot to ask if its for the N52.

I'd be interested if the group buy included 530i's with 225

They already have this chip avail. It boosts you up to 238, so they claim. I can see if we end up getting a group buy on the N52 engine, if we could include your purchase as well. I can't imagine they would say no.
