When I asked why, he said that silicon gives a much stronger bond and that taped spoilers usually fall off with time. I told him that I was concerned about lease return. He claimed that most car companies will accept a lease return with a spoiler.

Your thoughts please. Once my lease ends, I have no problem turning the car in with a spoiler but do you think BMW will accept it?

Scott, don't worry, if you REALLY want to take it off before turning the car in just use dental floss to remove it, then clean up excess silicone (or Goop as I would recommend - it's stronger) with Acetone (nail polish remover) and you'll never know it was there.
