I agree there are plenty of things to do to make the car run faster at the track. This particular discussion however, is just trying to understand if he gained any power from his Dinan mods.
well scratch that C&D got a 13.7 @104
motortrend did a 13.3 @ 105
man, who knows...I would definitely throw a fit myself

For example, I've seen 0-60 times for the M5 in different magazines that range from a low of 4.1 to 4.6.

Ah okay. So did I read the speeds right? If so, like I said before, you made a good improvement. People on M5board bicker about 2-3mph differences in trap speeds so it's no small margin.
Thats pretty steep.

I am convinced about dinans quality and your numbers confirmed it for me.

For comparison purposes, I think a stock M5 runs around 118mph or so trap speed whereas a fully modded M5 with NOS putting close to 200 more hp at the crank runs about 127-128mph. About 10mph difference. Dinan claims about 30hp gain from the mods you got. How much of an improvement did you expect?

Everybody can assess the benefit and what it is worth. When we are talking about cars that are worth over $70k then dinan prices are not unreasonable. If an M5 is more than $30k more then the 2-3 miles on your quarter mile is huge!!! Especially if the M3 gets 109 and a luxury saloon can get to 106-107 with an experienced driver.

dinans quality of parts is not at question here, the materials and craftsmanship are great, it is their performance, the parts dusan and i both purchased for our cars were said to add up to 30hp to our vehicles, we put the car on a dyno, and nothing changed except the air fuel ratio, everything stayed the same across the board, like i said before, it seems people on this board are willing to attack other companies because of dyno numbers, but it seems dinan is off limits.......and as far as the car "feeling" faster, it "feels" faster when you put a 300 dollar sprint booster in it also ![Think](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/think.gif)

I disagree, drag strip times is the most accurate power assessment. the dyno is not going to tell you everything unless the setup is correct for the mods you have. Production cars can have various readings that differ 2-5%. 2 mph trap speed is a lot of change. But somebody else is happy by a dyno reading and not recorded performance. Can somebody estimate what power increase will give this trap speed increase?
