Well this guy did a 14 @ 100( see link) and others were faster

Edmunds did 13.8 @102

Dinan needs to step up to the plate on this one. On their site they have( 2 )S1 packages and (2 ) S packages both have stage 2,3 software..either way that car should have a min of 25hp up top.

by his times it doesnt show that.

What you are saying supports the fact that he saw big improvement with dinan stage 3 since he traps now at 105.5mph. It doesn't make sense not to see that...

To me and most everybody else quarter mile time is what counts. Also, the Dyno doesn't lie. The facts are the facts. It showed 0 gain. Not 10. Not 5. A big fat 0! On their website they claim 30+ hp and I got nothing.

I'll attempt this one last time...

Quarter mile times are great but trap speeds are also great indicators. A 2-3mph improvement means you had a good increase in horsepower. Check with people that are more knowledgeable on trap speeds and they'll confirm what I'm saying. I don't understand why you guys are simply ignoring this???

As for your dyno runs, as stated earlier, my take is that Dinan's mods are made specifically for higher airflow at higher speeds that they can measure only with their extremely large fan and in real world conditions. The dyno set up you used probably does not have a fan that provides that much airflow so the gains aren't showing up.

If you still want to believe that you wasted your money then by all means go fight to get it back.

Good luck with everything.

That is very correct, time is based on traction, trap speed is power...for whatever it is worth!

I've never been a fan of Dinan, but I can say that by viewing your pre and post trap speeds you have indeed gained horsepower. There are too many variables that can affect dyno numbers. The best indicator of horsepower is trap speed. If you screw up your launch, basically the 60', it doesnt matter (in regards to horsepower). 60' foot and elapsed time (ET) are not going to tell you anything except whether you're a novice or experience drag racer.

I have been to the drag strip and seen keang24 and Rab Dog get ET of 12.1 - 12.7 yet their trap speeds were 119 and 121 respectively. Rab Dog eventually got his ET down to 12.1 but he should have been doing high 11's if he were able to hookup better. He had 18" Volk Racing wheels in the rear with drag radials. As for keang24, nothing better than 12.4, if I recall correctly since he was racing with 20" wheels. What does that mean? It means they can't launch their M5s worth a lick but when they approached the end of the quarter mile they were coming on strong and fast. So, for me, I'm more impressed with trap speeds than ET.

Dusand ran what other Mags ran stock so what am I missing? Dusand spent 4K on mods that apparently didnt gain him anything

Avg joe:14 @ 100
Edmunds did 13.8 @102
C&D got a 13.7 @104
motortrend did a 13.3 @ 105

dusan:
13.78 @103
13.8 @105
13.7 @104
13.7 @105

Show dinan these stats and ask WTF? gives.

I'm saying you can't compare what his times are with what other people ran or what's in the magazines. He should only compare his own times before and after the mods. Does that make sense?

you cant say that,. you need a base numbers from factory to gauge your numbers. The magazines do the tests to see how close to the factory numbers they can get. I cant justify using only my base runs to compare to, you have to use others too. In the end he didnt really gain much for the money so ..

There are variances between cars even from the factory. Different drivers on different tracks will also give different results. I've seen 0-60 times for the M5 ranging from 4.1s to 4.6s so using what the magazines post is not as relevant as using your own times.
