Alright I'm just about to get the Mtech kit for my e60...
I think the final question is, What material shouldi get?
Im almost positive ive seen a post where it said the bumpers are the same plastic as the oem bumpers.
And i have seen another post where the bumpers were fiberglass.
-What should i get? The original plastic or can i get away with the fiberglass bumpers as long as no one bumps me and cracks my ish.
I live in ny so the roads and some ramps onto the gas station are steep...definitely worrying me as well.
I havent lowered my car at all, so adding the kit if anyone could tell me how close i will be to the ground that would be cool
Thanks for any help guys...

the OEM M tech only comes in ABS plastic... i wouldn't recommend fiberglass...( if there is any)... as far as ground clearance... if your car isnt lowered, you shouldn't have any problems at all with the M Tech scraping... GL woth the modding!!! Oh yeah......Welcome to the boards!!
As far as M-Tech kits that I know of on this side of the world, the 'replica' front bumper is available in ABS but all the other parts are fiberglass even if they say fiberglass-reinforced plastic or whatever-- it's still not that strong.
This is from a local dealer that sells both OEM and rep kits.

don't get fiberglass, oem uses polyurethane because it is somewhat flexable where as fiberglass is very rigid and cracks easily upon impact where as the ployurethane may bounce back istead of cracking.
