just finished it...was in a rush, didn't want to have to wait 30 min for a second coat so 2nd coat and 3rd coat were sprayed within 15 minutes. Probably will do it again this weekend when I have more free time and may be will scuff up that area a bit before spraying the 1st coat.

whats the texture like on this stuff? wondering if it can be used as a fix for the peeling "soft touch" on my gear stick..

depending on how you spray it but it can be smooth matte finish if you do it right; I guess patience is the key here which I do not have. First coat was perfect matte finish but additional coats had the texture bubble like look.
